The Bench of Remembrance

Honoring Pain. Breaking Silence. Saving Lives.

The Bench of Remembrance stands as a symbol as a symbol of pain that too often goes unseen. This bench was created to honor the emotional suffering caused by bullying, isolation, silence, and mental health neglect. Every year, approximately 4,400 lives lost to bullying related suicide. Many more suffer quietly without anyone noticing. This memorial exists to acknowledge that pain - and to remind the world that every life deserves to be seen, heard, and protected.

What the Bench Represents

  • Bullying pain
  • Isolation
  • Silence from those who should help
  • Mental health struggles left unnoticed
  • The 4,400 lives lost each year

This bench is not about violence. It is about recognizing the pain that existed long before tragedies occur and ensuring that pain is no longer ignored.

The Plaque

Plaque installed March 2026, this plaque honors individuals whose pain went unseen and unheard, as well as the thousands of victims of bullying who lose their lives every year. The purpose of this memorial is simple: Pain deserves to be acknowledge. Silence must be broken.

Why This Memorial Exists

The Bench of Remembrance was created by Carl Gravely, founder of Championing 4 Bullying. Carl experienced bullying firsthand and understands the lasting emotional impact it leaves behind. Through his nonprofit work, writing, and advocacy, Carl continues to fight for accountability, prevention, and awareness. The bench serves as a reminder that bullying is not just a school problem - it is a human issue that requires compassion and action.

Closing But Not The End...

Pain should never be ignored. Silence should never be the response to suffering. Every life matters. If we truly want to prevent the next tragedy, we must start by listening, noticing, and acting when someone is hurting.
